Thermal Treatment
Heat Treatment
IPPC standards (International Plant Protection Convention) establish guidelines and requirements for all wooden packaging used in international transportation to undergo a rigorous heat treatment process. The aim of heat treatment is to eliminate potential parasites, pests, and pathogenic organisms that may be present in the wood.
The heat treatment process involves raising the core temperature of the wood to at least 56°C and maintaining this temperature for a minimum of 30 minutes. This ensures the elimination of all harmful organisms, guaranteeing safe transportation and the protection of the ecosystem.
